Answer:

Given :-

The AP is -2 , -4 , -6 , .......-100

To Find :-

The 12th term of the Ap

Solution :-

Here ,

The First term of the AP is ( a1) = -2

The second term of the AP is ( a2) = -4

so, The common difference is = ( a 2 - a1)

= ( - 4 + 2)

= -2

Now ,

a12 = a + ( n -1 ) d

a12 = -2 + ( 12 - 1 ) -2

a12 = -2 + 11 × ( -2)

a12 = -2 + ( -22 )

a12 = -2 - 22

a12 = - 24

Therefore , The 12th term of the AP is -24 .

Formullas :-

To find the no. of term of the Ap from First we use ,

= a + ( n - 1) d

where ,

a = 1st term .

n = number of the term

d = common difference

To Find the no. of term from the end of the AP we use ,

= l - ( n - 1) d

where,

l = last term

n = no. of term

d = common difference .
