Here formula apply Ap=a + ( n-1 ) ×d
5+(12-1)×3=38

GIVEN :

The A.P is 5,8,11,14,......

From this ,

The first term, a = 5

The common difference , d = t2 - t1

d = 8 - 5

d = 3

TO FIND :

The 12th term,t12 = ?

SOLUTION:

The general term,tn

tn = a + (n - 1)d

where n is the nth term.

t12 = a + ( 12 - 1 ) d

= a + 11 d

= 5 + 11(3)

= 5 + 33

t12 = 38

ANSWER : 38
