Given:

1, 6, 11, 16 ... is AP

To find:

15th term of the following AP 1, 6, 11, 16...

Solution:

Given 1, 6, 11, 16 ... is AP

Here, first term a₁ = 1

Second term a₂ = 6

Common difference d = a₂ - a₁  = 6 - 1 = 5

As we know nth term in AP = a + (n-1) d

⇒ 15th term of AP = a + (15 - 1)d

= a +14d

we know that from above data a = 1 and d = 5  

⇒ a +14d = 1 + 14(5) = 1 + 70 = 71  

Therefore, 15th term of AP = 71
