\boxed{\textbf{\large{Explanation}}}

AP (arithmetic progression) = 5 , 10 , 15 , 20 .....

a ( first term) = 5

d ( common difference) = t2 - t1 = 10 - 5 = 5

In an arithmetic progression the common difference between two consecutive terms are equal

The formula for nth term of an AP is,

tn = a + ( n - 1 ) d

we have to find out 17th term,

t17 = 5 + ( 17 - 1 ) 5

= 5 + (16 x 5 )

= 5 + 80

= 85

Therefor the 17th term of an AP is 85

GIVEN :

AP = 5, 10, 15, 20

First term of an AP = a = 5

Common Difference = a2 - a1 = 10 - 5 = 5

17th term of an AP = ?

We know that,

17th term of an AP = a + 16d

a17 = a + 16d

a17 = (5) + 16(5)

a17 = 5 + 80

a17 = 85

Therefore, the 17th term of an AP is 85.
