a ( first term )
d ( common difference )

a11 = 38

a + 10d = 38 ...... ( i )

a16 = 73

a + 15d = 73 .... ( ii )

Sub ( ii ) from ( i )

a + 10d - a - 15d = 38 - 73

- 5d = - 35

d = 7

Putting value of d in ( i )

a + 10d = 38

a + 70 = 38

a = - 32

a31 = a + 30d


a31 = - 32 + 210

a31 = 178
