Firstly for easy solution ,invert the ap series .....
-40,.....,11,10
a(n)= a+ (n-1)d
d=1
a=-40
then, a(5) = -40+(5-1) ×1
a(5)=-36
-40,.....,11,10
a(n)= a+ (n-1)d
d=1
a=-40
then, a(5) = -40+(5-1) ×1
a(5)=-36
