because the common difference between them is equal
14 - 5 = 9
23 - 14 = 9
in this AP first term is a = 5 and d= 9
to find fifth term
a5 = a + (n-1)d
a5 = 5 + (5 -1 )9
a5 = 41
hence 5th term = 41
