Explanation:for body with mass m=
mg-T=ma-----(1)
For body with mass M
Mg-3T=Ma-----(2)(since tension from 3 strings act on M
(Note that my acceleration in downwards,I.e mass m goes down and mass M goes up.)
(1)×3=3mg-3T=3ma----(3)
Equating (1) and (3), we get
a=g/2 m/(s)^2
