WE KNOW THE SUM OF THREE ANGLES OF

TRIANGLE IS 180

THEREFORE,70+50+x=180

THEREFORE,X=180-120

x=60

THIRD ANGLE=60

NOW, THIRD ANGLE AND ANGLE ABD FORM LINEAR PAIR

THEREFORE,60+ANGLE ABD=180

THEREFORE, ANGLE ABD =120

Correct Question :- From the adjacent figure find angle ABD ?

Solution 1) :-

In ∆ABC , we have,

→ ∠BAC = 70° (given)

→ ∠ACB = 50° (given)

so,

→ ∠BAC + ∠ACB + ∠ABC = 180° { By angle sum property. }

→ 70° + 50° + ∠ABC = 180°

→ 120° + ∠ABC = 180°

→ ∠ABC = 180° - 120°

→ ∠ABC = 60° .

then,

→ ∠ABC + ∠ABD = 180° { since DC is a straight line, so, linear pair angles. }

→ 60° + ∠ABD = 180°

→ ∠ABD = 180° - 60°

→ ∠ABD = 120° (Ans.)

Solution 2) :-

→ ∠ABD = ∠BAC + ∠ACB { Exterior angle is equal to sum of opposite interior angles. }

so,

→ ∠ABD = 70° + 50°

→ ∠ABD = 120° (Ans.)
