SOLUTION

TO DETERMINE

The algebraic expression of arithmetic sequence of

- 8 , - 13 , - 18 and 6 , 10 , 14

EVALUATION

ANSWER TO QUESTION : 1

Here the given arithmetic sequence is

- 8 , - 13 , - 18

First term = a = - 8

Common Difference = d = - 13 + 8 = - 5

n th term of the Arithmetic sequence

= a + (n-1)d

= - 8 - 5( n - 1)

= - 8 - 5n + 5

= - 5n - 3

Hence the required algebraic expression of arithmetic sequence = - 5n - 3

ANSWER TO QUESTION : 2

Here the given arithmetic sequence is

6 , 10 , 14

First term = a = 6

Common Difference = d = 10 - 6 = 4

n th term of the Arithmetic sequence

= a + (n-1)d

= 6 + 4 ( n - 1)

= 6 + 4n - 4

= 4n + 2

Hence the required algebraic expression of arithmetic sequence = 4n + 2
