Find the altitude and area of an isosceles traingle whose perimeter is 64 cm and whose base is 24 cm

Answer

Area of triangle = 1/2×B×H

192=1/2×24×H

H=192×2/24

H=16cm

Now, we know that the altitude of an isoceles triangle bisects the base .

Hence, using pythogoras theoram:

We will get the equal sides as,

Squarerootof(162+122)

= square root of ( 256+144)

=20cm.

Thus , the perimetre will be 20+20+24 = 64cm.
