Find the amount on Rs. 10,000/- for 1 year at 8% per annum compounded half yearly.

nishafbgoutam: Use the formula
nishafbgoutam: A = P ( 1 + r / 2 x 100)^nx2
nishafbgoutam: 10000(1+8/200)^1x2=10000 X (208/200)*(208/200)=10816

Answer:

Rs 10816

Step-by-step explanation:

Remember the formula :

A = P ( 1 + r /  100) ^ n

Here n stands for how many times the amount has to be compounded.

Given :

P = Rs 10,000

r = 4%

[ since it is given r = 8% per annum and the amount is compounded half yearly ! ]

n = 2 because the amount is compounded half early for 1 year.

A = P ( 1 + r /  100)^2

  ==> Rs 10,000 × ( 1 + 4 / 100 )^ 2

  ==> Rs 10,000 × ( 100 + 4 )^2/ 100^2

  ==> Rs 10,000 × 104^2 / 100^2

  ==> Rs 10,000 × 10816 / 10000

  ==> Rs 1 × 10816

  ==> Rs 10816

The amount will be Rs 10816

Hope it helps you :-)
