Answer:

The question you have asked is based on

Trigonometry

Before solving the question Let's learn basic things of trigonometry

  • Trigonometry is one of the important history of mathematics and this concept is given by Greek mathematician Hipparchus
  • It is study of triangles in which we deal with triangles and each angles of triangle.
  • It is one of those divisions in mathematics that helps in finding the angles and missing sides of a triangle by the help of trigonometric ratios.

Solution:-

It is testing on the trigonometric ratios.

The ladder leaning on the wall forms a right angled triangle.

Let the right angled triangle formed be of side a, b and c.

Now :

a =>the height => the height of the wall.

b => the base => The distance between the ladder and the wall.

c => The hypotenuse => the length of the ladder.

Let the angle that the ladder makes with the ground be O.

Since b is adjacent and c is the hypotenuse we will use cosine.

Cos O =>adjacent / hypotenuse

Cos O => 4/5

=> 0.8

O => Cos inverse of 0.8

=> 40.97°
