Find the angle of deviation if the light which is incident on a flat surface makes an angle of 15° with the surface.

In a plane mirror the angle of deviation is given by :-


=> 180° - 2∠i


Here ‘ ∠i ‘ is the angle of incidence.


According to the question, the incident Ray makes an angle of 15° with surface.


We know that the angle between Normal and surface is 90° , So the angle of incidence will be :-


⇒ ∠i = 90 - 15


Angle of incidence ∠i = 75°


Now , Angle of deviation = 180 - 2∠i


⇒ 30° . is the required answer
