Given :

Angle of prism = A =4°

Refractive index of prism = 1.5

Angle of deviation = d=?

Formula to be used :

μ= Sin(A+dm)/2/ Sin A/2

for small angle of prism sinθ=θ

so,

1.5= (4+dm)/2)/ 4/2

1.5 x 4= 4+dm

dm= 1.5x 4° -4°

=4x 0.5

=4x5/10

=2°

∴Angle of deviation =dm=2°
