\textbf{Answer :}

Let us take the angel as x

Then, its supplementary angle is (180 - x) and its complementary angle is (90 - x)

By the given condition,

180 - x = 6 (90 - x)

⇒ 180 - x = 540 - 6x

⇒ - x + 6x = 540 - 180

⇒ 5x = 360

⇒ x = 360/5

⇒ x = 72

∴ the required angle is 72°

• Supplementary angles : If the sum of two angles be 180°, the angles are called supplementary angles.

• Complementary angles : If the sum of two angles be 90°, the angles are called complementary angles.
