Applying Pythagoras Theorem–EB² = AE²+AB²
EB² = 9²+6²
EB² = 81+36
EB² = 117 cm
ii) In right ∆DCB—
Applying Pythagoras Theorem–
BD² = DC²+CB²
BD² = 4²+6²
BD² = 16+36
BD² = 52 cm
iii) In right ∆EBD—
Applying Pythagoras Theorem–
ED² = EB²+BD²
ED = √EB²+BD²
ED = √117+52
ED = √169
ED = √13×13
ED = 13 cm
