1) vertically opposite and are (a + 30) and (b-20) such that a and b form a linear pair and are vertically opposite.​

So here the condition must be verified

Now our basic goal is to represent two equal angles in the form of linear equations in 2 variables a and b

So if we take 60°

Then a+30=60

And b-20=60

So a+30=b-20 as according to question

So a-b=-50

Now

a=30 and b=80 from eq. (1) and eq.(2)

and a-b must be equal to -50

Now 30-80=-50

So -50 =-50

LHS=RHS

hence verified
