digit of blue ball = 1

digit of white ball = 8

digit of red ball = 5

hence, the no. is 185.

Proof ----->

185 + 185 + 185 = 555

so, by adding all the no. we get the no. 555 which is the digit of red balls.

Let, r denote the red balls, w denote the white and b denote the blue balls.

When we add, we start from the right side. So, in the right side we have all three red balls and the result is red ball too.

So, we get that, r + r + r = r

⇒ 3r = r

⇒ r = 0

So, we got one solution as 0 for r but it won't satisfy the next condition of w, as any same digit from 1 to 9 will not sum up to give 0

So, what else could be the value of r?

Remember, here, we have to get the one's digit as r and not the whole outcome. So, we need a number, which when added 3 times, gives the one's place of the number as the original number.

So, taking r as 1, we get 3r = 3

and, 1 ≠ 3

Taking r as 2, we get 3r = 6

again, 2 ≠ 6

Taking r as 3, we get 3r = 9

again, 3 ≠ 9

Taking r as 4, we get 3r = 12

Now, the one's place has 2, again 4 ≠ 2

Now, taking r as 5, we get 3r = 15

Now, one's place is 5 and 5 = 5

So, r = 5 satisfy the given condition.

So, now if we add 5 three times, we get 15. Remember, while adding, the one's place is written in the sum and the ten's place is given to carry over the next column. So, here, 1 will be carried to the next column of w and 5 will be written in the sum.

So, now we need a value of w such that, the one's place adds up to r :-

w + w + w + 1 = r

or,

3w + 1 = 5

(since, r = 5)

Now, again by trial process we conclude that when we take w as 8, we get

3(8) + 1 = 5

⇒ 24 + 1 = 5

⇒ 25 = 5

Now, since the one's place are same, we get w = 8

Now, since w = 8, 3w + 1 = 25. So, now, 2 will be carried on the next column of blue balls, and 5 will be written in the sum.

So, now we will need a value of b such that the one's place will be 5

⇒ b + b + b + 2 = r

or,

3b + 2 = 5

⇒ Now, here, only 1 satisfies this condition.

Hence, value of b is 1

Therefore, we got the number as 185 which when added 3 times, gives 555 which satisfies the question.

Hence, r = 5

w = 8

b = 1
