Let the three digit number be x,y,z. ---- (1)

Given that the digit 1 is attached to the right of a 3 digit number making it a 4-digit number.

So, the 4-digit number = xyz1 ----- (2)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Given that it is 7777 more than the given number.

= > (1000x + 100y + 10z + 1) - (100x + 10y + z) = 7777

= > 990x + 90y + 9z + 1 = 7777

= > 990x + 90y + 9z = 7776

= > 9(100x + 10y + z) = 7776

= > 100x + 10y + z = 7776/9

= > 100x + 10y + z = 864.

Therefore, the sum of the digits of the number = 8 + 6 + 4 = 18.

Hope this helps!
