Answer:

If pi = 3

1)  Arc length of the largest arc = 2 x pi x r

                                               = 2 x 3 x 7 = 42 cm

Total arc lengths of the two small arcs (as same radius) = 2 x 2 x pi x r

                                                                                 = 2 x 2 x 3 x 3.5 / 2 = 21cm

Arc length of the remaining arc = 2 x pi x r =  2 x 3 x 7 / 2  = 21cm

Therefore , Total length of the boundary = 21cm + 21cm + 42cm = 84cm

2)  Area of shaded region = Area of largest arc - Area of two smallest arcs + area of remaining arc

                                           = 1/2 x pi x R^2 - 2 x 1/2 x pi x (r/2)^2 + 1/2 x pi x r^2

                                           =1/2x3x7x7 - 2x1/2x3x3.5/2x3.5/2 + 1/2x3x7/2x7/2

                                           = 73.5 - 9.1875 + 18.375

                                           = 82.6875 cm^2
