Required Answer:-

GiveN:

  • PQ || BC
  • AP = 5 cm
  • PB = AQ
  • AP / PB = 1 / 2

Step-wise-Step Explanation:

We have the length of AP provided in the question and the relation between AP and PB, So we can determine the length of PB from here.

⇒ AP/PB = 1/2

⇒ 5 cm / PB = 1/2

⇒ PB = 5 cm × 2

⇒ PB = 10 cm

Now it is given that,

⇒ AQ = PB

⇒ AQ = 10 cm.

We have to apply BPT or Thales theoram to find the length of QC because PQ || AB. According to BPT,

⇒ AP / PB = AQ / QC

⇒ 5 cm / 10 cm = 10 cm / QC

⇒ QC = 10 cm × 10 cm / 5 cm

⇒ QC = 20 cm

Hence:-

The required lengths of PB, AQ and QC are 10 cm, 10 cm and 20 cm respectively.

Answer:

Given :-

PQ || BC

AP = 5 cm

PB = AQ

AP / PB = 1 / 2

To Find :-

PB, AQ QC

Solution :-

Here it is given AP = 5 cm

AP/PB = 1/2

PB × 1 = 2 × 5

PB = 10 cm

Now,

PB = AQ = 10 cm

According to the question

AP/PB = AQ/QC

5/10 = 10/QC

10 × 10 = 5 × QC

100 = 5QC

QC = 100/5

QC = 20

Therefore :-

 \sf here \begin{cases} \sf \: PB = 10 \: cm \\  \sf AQ  = 10 \: cm \\  \sf and \: QC = 20 cm \end{cases}
