a) Velocity at which the object was thrown:

u²/2g

⇒ 45 = u²/20

⇒ u² = 900

⇒ u = 30 m/s

b) Time taken to reach highest point:

h = u/g

⇒ t = u/g

⇒ t = 30/10 s = 3 s

c) Total time for which the object remains in the air:

u/g while going up and u/g while coming down

= 2u/g = 2*30/10 =

60/10 s =

6 s
