Find the approximate distance that will be saved by walking diagonally across a field 450 meters by 250 meters instead of walking along the two adjacent sides.​

Given,

Dimensions of the field = 450m × 250m

To find,

The distance saved by walking diagonally instead by walking along the two adjacent sides.

Solution,

We can easily solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process.

Diagonal distance = √(450)²+(250)² = √(202500+62500) = √265000 = 514.78 m

Distance of two adjacent sides = (450+250) = 700m

Distance saved = (700-514.78) = 185.22m

Hence, the distance saved is 185.22m
