Correct Question :-

  • Find the area of rectangle whose one side is 8m long and diagonal is of length 17m.

 \\ \\

Given :-

  • Length of the Rectangle = 8m
  • One Diagonal of Rectangle = 17m

 \\ \\

To Find :-

  • What is the Area of Rectangle ?

 \\ \\

Solution :-

 \\

Using Pythagoras Theorem

⇛ (Diagonal)² = (Length)² + (Breadth)²

⇛ (17)² = (8)² + (Breadth)²

⇛ 289 = 64 + (Breadth)²

⇛ 289 - 64 = (Breadth)²

⇛ 225 = (Breadth)²

⇛ √225 = Breadth

⇛ 25m = Breadth

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Using Area of Rectangle

⇛ Area of Rectangle = Length × Breadth

⇛ Area of Rectangle = 8 × 25

⇛ Area of Rectangle = 200m²

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

So, Area of Rectangle is 200m²

More For Knowledge :-

  • Area of Square = Side x Side
  • Area of Rectangle = Length × Breadth
  • Area of Triangle = ½ × base x height
  • Area of parallelogram = base x height
  • Area of circle = πr²
  • Area of Rhombus = ½ × product of its diagonals
  • Area of Trapezium = ½ × height × sum of parallel sides
  • Area of Polygon = sum of the area of all regions into which it is divided
