## area of the shaded portion=area of trapezium ABCD - area of triangle ##

Trapezium ABCD

i.Height=12 cm

ii.CD = 40 -10 =30cm

iii.AB = 40cm

area \: of \: trapezium \:  = (sum \: of \: parralel \: sides) \:  \times height \div 2

iv.Area = (30+40)×12/2

=70×6

=420cm²

Triangle

i.Height=12cm

ii.Base=10cm

area \: of \: triangle = 1 \div 2 \:  \times base \times height

iii..Area=1/2×10×12

=10×6

=60cm²

Area of Shaded region=420-60

=360cm²
