method to calcutate the shaded region is as follow
.
firstly find out the area of rectangle having dimension 20cm by 30cm
Area of rectangle = l x b = 20 x 30 = 600cm square

next find out the Area of triangle having Base =20cm and height = 10cm..
Area of triangle = 1/2 x base x height
= 1/2 x 20 x 10 = 100cm square

Required Area
= Area of Rectangle - Area of Triangle
= 600 - 100
= 500 cm square..

syed28: thank u soooo muchh
GovindRavi: welcome you :)

Look ,here we need to find the area of thr shaded region which will be eqaul to the area of rectangle-area of triangle ( the figure has a triangle inside a rectangle)
First, area of triangle:
l*b = 20*30 =600 cm^2
Area of triangle:
1/2*b*h ,here base is 20cm (side of rectangle) and height is 10 cm, so area
1/2*10*20=100 cm^2
now area of area of shaded region = 600-100= 500cm^2.
Your answer is 500cm^2.
