Find the area, altitude, and perimeter of an isosceles triangle given a =12, b =7 cm? ​

a = 12 cm

★ b = 7 cm

To Find :-

Area, altitude & perimeter of the isosceles triangle.

Solution :-

We know,

= (b × h) /2

Altitude of an isosceles triangle

= √ ( a² -b²/4)

Perimeter of an isosceles triangle

= 2a +b

Substituting the values, we get __

☞ Perimeter of an isosceles triangle

= 2a +b

= 2(12) +7

= 31 cm

☞ Altitude of an isosceles triangle

= √ ( a² -b²/4)

= √ ( 12² -7² /4)

= √(144 - 12.25) cm

= 11.478cm

☞ Area of an isosceles triangle

= (b × h) /2

= ( 7 × 11.478) /2

= 40. 173 cm²

Hence,

Area of the isosceles triangle is = 40.173 cm²

Altitude of the isosceles triangle is = 11.478 cm

Perimeter of the isosceles triangle is = 31 cm
