let's first start with circumference

circumference of a circle =

2\pi \: r

where r is radius.

therefore circumference =

2 \times 3.14 \times 17 \\

which is 106.76

next area of the circle is given by

\pi \: r { }^{2}

therefore area =

3.14 \times 17 {}^{2}

which is 907.46
