find the area and perimeter of a rectangle whose length is 15 cm and lengh of the diagonal is 17 cm.

answer is
length of the rectangle = 15cm
breadth of the rectangle = 17 cm
perimeter = 2×(l+b)
2×15+17
2×32
= 64

We know that 17cm is the hypotenuse of a right triangle with one side being 15cm.
So from the Pythagorean theorem we know that 17^2 - 15^2 will equal the square of the other side. 289 - 225 = 64 which is 8^2.
Therefore the rectangle has sides of 8 and 15.
Area is 120 cm^2 and perimeter is 46 cm.
