find the area and perimeter of a Square plot of land the length of whose diagonal is 14 metres .give your answer correct to 2 places of decimals.

We know that diagonal of a sqaure = a√2
where a is the side
This means,

a√2 = 14

=> a = 14/√2

=> a = √7 × √14

=> a = 9.899 (approx)

=> a = 9.9 (approx)


Now area = s²

=> area = 9.9²

=> area = 98.01m²

And perimeter = 4s

=> perimeter = 4 × 9.9 = 39.60m
