Find the area and perimeter of the square PQRS , if
a) PQ = QR = 1.5 cm

Area :

a) PQ = QR = 1.5 cm [Given]

In squares all sides are equal .

So..

PQ = QR = RS = RP = 1.5 cm

$\sf \huge \pink{area \: of \: square = \: side \times side}$

Now,

= Side × Side

= 1.5 × 1.5

= 2.25 $\sf cm^2$

( b ) PQ = QR = 12 mm [Given]

All sides are equal in Square..

PQ = QR = RS = SP = 12 mm

= Side × Side

= 12 × 12

= 144 $\sf mm^2$

Perimeter :

$\sf \huge \pink{perimeter \: of \: square \: = \: 4 \times side}$

( a ) PQ = QR = 1.5 cm [Given]

PQ = QR = RS = SP = 1.5 cm

Perimeter = 4 × side

= 4 × 1.5

= 6 cm

( b ) PQ = QR = 12 mm [Given]

= 4 × 12

= 48 cm
