Suppose in a rectangle ABCD , AC and BD are the diagonals.

We can divide the rectangle into two triangles , Triangle ABC and Triangle ACD.

As it is a rectangle , angle B and angle D will be 90 degree.

So Triangle ABC and Triangle ACD are right angles .

Therefore , AC ^2 = AB^2 + Bc^2

AC = 17 cm

AB = 15 cm

BC^2 = 17^2 - 15^2  = 289-225  = 64

BC = root 64 = 8 cm.

Area = l x b  = 15 x 8 =  120 cm^2

Perimeter = 2(l+b) = 2 x ( 15+8)

 = 2 x 23 = 46 cm
