we have to use pythagores theorem,
15cm is the length and 17cm is the diagonal.
let ABCD be the rectangle where AB is the length and BD is the length of one diagonal.
BD^2=AB^2+BC^2
17^2=15^2+BC^2
289=225+BC^2
289-225=BC^2
64=BC^2
8=BC
perimeter=2(AB+BD)
=2(15+8)
=2(23)
=46
Area=AB×BC
=15×8
=120
The area of the rectangle is 120cm and the perimeter of the rectangle is 46cm.
