Answer:

area of shaded region = area of square-area of semicircle

area= 21×21-22/7×21/2×21/2×1/2

=441-1617/4=1764-1627/4=137/4

perimeter= sum of three sides of square+ perimeter of semicircle

perimeter= 21+21+21+2(22/7)21/2

=21+21+21+154=217

Answer:

Given,

ABCD is a square

side=21cm=AB=BC=CD=AD

AED is a semicircle

Area of square ABCD=side×side=(21×21)cm^2=441cm2

Area of semicircle AED=πr^2/2=22/7×21/2×21/2=173.25cm^2

Area of shaded region=area of square ABCD-area of semicircle AED=441-173.25=267.75cm^2

Now,

Perimeter of Square ABCD=4×side=4×21=84cm

Perimeter of semicircle AED =(π+2)r=(22/7+2)21/2=54cm

Perimeter of shaded region=perimeter of square ABCD - Perimeter of semicircle AED

= 84-54=30cm
