Given x=3cost    y=2sint

⇒cost=3x and sint=2y

Now cos2t+sin2=1

⇒ax2+4y2=1___(1) [From a2x2+b2y2=1]

we have to find area of shaded portion  

⇒ Area = 4 Area of OAB  

=4∫03ydx

From (i) y2=94(9−x2)

∴ Area =4∫03329−x2dx

=38∫
