Given :  x=3+cos∅, y=sin∅

To Find  :  area bounded by the curve

Solution:

x=3+cos∅

=> cos∅ = (x - 3)

sin∅ = y

cos²∅  + sin²∅  = ( x - 3)²  + y²

=> ( x - 3)²  + y² = 1

=> ( x - 3)²  + y² = 1²

This is equation of circle with radius r =  1

Hence area =  πr²  = π sq  units

area bounded by the curve x=3+cos∅, y=sin∅ is  π sq  units
