ANSWER:---------

given sides of the triangle :-

a = 8cm

b = 10cm

c = 12cm

the formula for finding the area of a triangle is 1/2 × b × h. but no height is given. only sides are given so we'll use heron's formula.

for that, first we need to find the semi-perimeter of the triangle. also denoted as 's'

s = (8 + 10 + 12)/2

= 30/2

= 15cm

area of the triangle by heron's formula :-

  \rm   = \sqrt{s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)}  \\  \\  \rm =  \sqrt{15(15 - 8)(15 - 10)(15 - 12)}  \\  \\  \rm =  \sqrt{15 \times 7 \times 5 \times 3}  \\  \\  \rm =  \sqrt{3 \times 5 \times 7 \times 5 \times 3}  \\  \\  =  \sqrt{ \underline{3 \times 3}  \times  \underline{5 \times 5} \times 7}  \\  \\  \rm = 3 \times 5 \sqrt{7}  \\  \\  \rm = 15 \sqrt{7}  \:  {cm}^{2}
