find the area isoscele triangle whose base is 18cm and one of its equal side 15cm​

Divide the triangle into two congruent right angled triangle with hypotenuse 15 cm and base =  18/2 = 9cm

With pythagoras theorem : a²+b²=c²

                                            9²+c² = 15²

                                             81 + c² = 225

                                             c² = 225-81

                                             c² = 144

                                             c = √144

                                             c = 12cm

                                           

Area of one right angled triangle =  1/2 x h x b

                                                          =   1/2 x 9 x 12

                                                         = 54cm²

Area of isosceles triangle = 2×54 =108cm
