Therefore By Pythagoras Theorem ,

BC ^2 = AB ^2 + AC ^2

therefore BC^2 = 144 +144 = 288

BC = 12√2

Area of isosceles triangle = 1 /2 × b × h

= 6 × 12√2

= 72 √2
