Find the area of a path 2m wide laid inside along the boundary of a rectangular park of dimension 100m X 60 m. Find the cost of gravelling it at the rate of Rs. 30 per square metre.

Area of path=(100*2*2)+(56*2*2)=624m2

Length = 60m

Breadth = 40m

width = 2 m

So, by using formula of area of rectangle

Area of rectangle = length × breadth

Area of path = Area of outer rectangle - Area of inner rectangle

Length of inner rectangle = Actual length - 2(width of path)

Breadth of inner rectangle = Actual Breadth - 2(width of path)
