Answer:-

Given:-

Side of a square field = 50 m.

We have to find the area of the path of width 5 m surrounding the field.

So,

Area of the path = Area of the field along with the path - Area of the square field.

We know that,

Area of a square = (side)²

So,

Area of the field along with the path = (side + 2*5)²

[ ∵ Width of the path is included here ]

⟹ Area of the field along with the path = (50 + 2*5)² = (50 + 10)² = (60)²

⟹ Area of the field along with the path = 3600 m²

Now,

★ Area of the square field = (side)²

⟹ Area of the square field = (50)²

⟹ Area of the square field = 2500 m².

Therefore,

⟹ Area of the path = (3600 - 2500) m²

⟹ Area of the path = 1100m²
