let ABCD is a quadrilateral whose diagonal AC is 40 cm long

M is perpendicular on AC from vertex B

N is perpendicular on AC from vertex D

Now in triangle ABC,

Area of triangle ABC = 1 /2 *AC*BM

Area of triangle ADC= 1/2*AC*DN

Area of quadrilateral ABCD= Area( ABC+ADC)

Area of quadrilateral ABCD= 1/2*40(16+12)

Area of quadrilateral ABCD= 20* 28

Area of quadrilateral ABCD= 560
