diagonal of a rectangle = Square root of L^2 + B^2
Here Diagonal = Square root of 48*48 + x*x
2500 = 2304 + x*x
x = 14
Area = 48 * 14
= 672

Area = 48 * 14
= 672

Hi ,
Let length of the rectangular plot
= l = 48 m
Breadth = b m
Diagonal ( d ) = 50 m
l² + b² = d²
48² + b² = 50²
b² = 50² - 48²
= ( 50 + 48 ) ( 50 - 48 )
= 98 × 2
= 49 × 2 × 2
b = √ ( 7 × 7 ) × ( 2 × 2 )
b = 7 × 2
b = 14 m
Therefore ,
Area of the plot = lb
A = 48 × 14
= 672 sq m
I hope this helps you.
