breadth = 70m
length = √(74^2-70^2) = 24 m .
So, the area of rectangular plot = l × b = 70×24 = 1680m ^2

Let the length of the rectangle be 70 m.

Length of diagonal = 74m

=> d = √ l² +b²

=> 74m = √(70m)² + b²

=> 74m = √4900m² + b²

( Square the whole equation)

=> (74m)² = (√4900m² + b²)

=> (74m)² = 4900m² + b²

=> b² = (74m)² - 4900m²

=> b² = 5476m² - 4900m²

=> b² = 576m²

=> b = √576m²

=> b = 24m

Area of a rectangle = l × b

                               = 70m ×24m

                               = 1680m²

Ans.= The area of the rectangular plot is 1680m².

Hope it helps!!!
