Find the area of a rhombus, one side of which measures 20 cm.and one diagonal is 24 cm.

Since side = √{(d1/2)^2+(d2/2)^2}

20^2 = {(d1/2)^2+(d2/2)^2}

=) 400 = {(24/2)^2+(d2/2)^2}

=) 400 = 12^2 + (d2/2)^2}

=) 400 = 144 + (d2/2)^2}

=) 256 = (d2/2)^2

=) √256 = (d2/2)

=) 16 = (d2/2)

=) 16×2 = 32cm = d2.

Hence area of rhombus
= 1/2* d1* d2

= 1/2 * 24*32

= 384cm^2.
