Find the area of a rhombus whose side is 8 cm and whose altitude is 5 cm. If one of its diagonals is 10 cm, find
the length of the other diagonal.​

Solution:

Rhombus is a parallelogram.

Area of Parallelogram = Base × Height = 8 × 5 = 40 cm²

But, area of Rhombus = 1/2 × d₁ × d₂

{Here, d₁ & d₂ are the diagonals of Rhombus}

40 cm² = 1/2 × 10 × d₂

d₂ = 8 cm
