Area of right triangle is 150 cm².

Given:

  • The sides containing the right angle measure is 20 cm and 15cm in right triangle.

To find:

  • Find the area of triangle.

Solution:

Concept/formula to be used:

Area of right triangle \bf  =  \frac{1}{2}  \times Base \times Height \\

Step 1:

Write the given data.

See the attachment, in ∆ABC, the sides containing the right triangle are AB and BC.

Let

AB= 15 cm

BC= 20 cm

So,

Base of traingle is 20 cm.

Height of traingle is 15 cm.

One take take the values vice-versa.

Step 2:

Find the area of triangle.

Put the values in the formula.

Ar.(\triangle ABC) =  \frac{1}{2}  \times 20 \times 15 \\

Ar.(\triangle ABC) =   10 \times 15 \\

\bf Ar.(\triangle ABC) =  150 \:  {cm}^{2}  \\

Thus,

Area of right triangle is 150 cm².
