Answer:

area of the triangle = 120 cm^{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given a right angled triangle hypotenuse = 26 cm

                                one side of triangle  = 24 cm

     the triangle is right angled, therefore from Pythagoras theorem

       in a right triangle    hpotenuse ^{2} = side^{2}+ side^{2}

                                       26^{2} = 24^{2} + side^{2}

                                      side^{2} =  26^{2} - 24^{2}

                                      side^{2} = 676 - 576 =100

                                      side^{2}  =  10^{2}  ⇒  side = 10

 area of right triangle = \frac{ 1}{2} bh =   \frac{ 1}{2} ( 24)(10)  = 24× 5 =120 cm^{2}
