We know that,
- The sides containing the right angle of a right angled triangle are perpendicular height and base .
So, let perpendicular height and base of given right angled ∆ are 10 cm and 8 cm respectively .
then,
→ Area of ∆ = (1/2) * base * perpendicular height
→ Area of ∆ = (1/2) * 8 * 10
→ Area of ∆ = 4 * 10
→ Area of ∆ = 40 cm² (Ans.)
therefore, area of given right angled triangle is equal to 40 cm² .
